Pathology and Stem Cell research center

Introduction:

Pathology and stem cell research center affiliated with Afzalipour School of Medicine has been established with great efforts done by Presidential Administration of Iran, Research Deputy of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Dr. Vasei, and a group of faculty members at Kerman University of Medical Sciences in 2011. This center consists of different sections such as cell culture, Molecular Pathology, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry, and Histopathology and has the diagnostic medical services capabilities such as BCR-ABL, JAK2, HLA Typing, Karyotyping, Fish, Cish, and BK. It has to be said that this center has had effective activity in conducting research projects and theses on Cellular and Molecular Pathology, the output of which is publishing 45 articles in well-known international journals in the recent three years and collaboration in 200 research projects with other organizations and research centers such as Physiology and Neuroscience, Departments such as Haematology, Biochemistry, Parasitology, Medical Mycology, Immunology from medical university and departments of Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, and Veterinary from Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman and School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Leishmaniasis Research Center. During recent years the center has employed many PhD-by-research medical students and the staff from compulsory medical service program. Holding two Afzalipour international medical congresses on pathology in 2015 and 2018 in Kerman is among the credits of the center. This center has expert staffs who have held 30 different workshops on Cellular and Molecular techniques. The center as a subset of Kerman University of Medical Sciences intends to take measures in scientific enhancement of Iran.
