The history of the genetics department of Kerman University of Medical Sciences


In November of 2013, Dr. Nasrullah Saleh Gohari started working as the only member of the university's genetics faculty with a PhD in human genetics from Sheffield, England.
He established and launched the prenatal genetic diagnosis of thalassemia in Afzalipur educational center in 2015.
Mr. Dr. Mohammad Reza Bazarafshani started working at the university in 2017 as the second faculty member of the genetics department with a PhD in human genetics from the University of Manchester.
Dr. Ahmed Anjam Shua joined the group in 2010 with a PhD in Human Genetics from the University of Ottawa, New Zealand. In 2013, he started the cytogenetics department in Javadalaime charity.
In order to check the educational facilities of the genetics field of Kerman University of Medical Sciences, a visit was made by the board delegation (Mr. Dr. Nouri Deloui - head and secretary of the board, Dr. Salehi, Dr. Qadirian and Mrs. Dr. Akhwan Niaki) on 12/30/2013.
Mrs. Dr. Kulthum Saeedi Garaghani started working at Kerman University of Medical Sciences in 2013 with a PhD in Human Genetics from Paova University, Italy.
In the second half of 2013, the formation of the genetics department was approved by the university's audit committee and continued its work under the management of Dr. Nasrullah Saleh Gohari.
With repeated follow-ups in the first half of 2019, the Council approved the expansion of the Department of Genetics of the University of Medical Sciences, and from October 1, 2019, four master's students in genetics (Mola Alinejad, Javed, Karimzadeh and Sharifi) started their studies in the university's educational department.
At the same time as these students began their studies, the genetics department completed and set up a genetics research laboratory at the medical school.
